Hello! I'm Mary Bee
a small-scale beekeeper in southeast Baltimore, specializing in Hyper Local Honey and local bee experiences.
---
My journey with bees started in 2012 when my dad and I started keeping a colony on the small farm where I grew up in Michigan. This initial spark sent me down a career path that as a kid I didn't even know was possible! Since those early days, I have worked with bees as a researcher, educator, and now as a full-time beekeeper.
---
In 2021, I moved to southeast Baltimore and quickly fell in love with Patterson Park and the surrounding neighborhoods, a community that is good for bees and people alike. The diverse ever-changing blooms found in the park, in backyards, in stoop gardens, and in vacant lots, feed my rooftop bees throughout the year, while the diverse, ever-changing neighborhoods around the park support the people that call it home.
---
As my Hyper Local Honey changes with each season, my hope is that it encourages you to notice local blooms, watch for buzzing bees, and maybe even care a little more about the shared spaces and people that make up our community.
