Long Live the Queen 👑

Hi, I’m Mary Bammer, better known as Mary Bee. I’m a beekeeper and honey producer based in Southeast Baltimore, specializing in hyper-local honey, raw seasonal harvests, and science-based beekeeping education.

My beekeeping journey began on a small farm in Michigan back in 2011, where I kept bees with my dad. What started as a backyard hobby evolved into a passion that shaped my career. I earned a Master’s in Extension Education while coordinating beekeeping programs at the University of Florida Honey Bee Research and Extension Lab.

In 2021, my partner and our cat Eko relocated to Southeast Baltimore, where we quickly fell in love with Patterson Park and its vibrant community. Today, I keep hives on a rowhome rooftop just north of the park. Thanks to the area’s diverse flowering trees, my bees stay well-fed and happy, and their honey reflects the flavors of this urban ecosystem.

You can often find me pedaling around town on my bike, hand-delivering jars of raw honey or setting up at pop-up events to chat all things bees. Whether you’re here to shop small-batch honey, learn about beekeeping, or simply explore the science behind the sweetness - I’m so glad you found your way here.

🍯 Say hi if you see me around! I’ll be the one on a bike, with honey or bees in tow.
